Camwall is an Apple TV app and an iPhone app made by Kenpar Solutions, LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what Camwall does with information.
The short version: Camwall doesn't collect any information about you. Everything it knows stays on your own iPhone and Apple TV.
What we collect
Nothing. Camwall has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. It never sends us your cameras' video, your camera passwords, your network details or anything else, and we have no servers that could receive them.
What Camwall stores on your devices
To do its job, Camwall keeps the following on your iPhone and, once you send your setup to it, on your Apple TV:
- Your camera setup — the names you give your cameras, their network and stream addresses, your layouts and your display settings.
- Camera usernames and passwords — kept in the Keychain, Apple's secure storage on your device, separately from the rest of the setup.
- Pairing keys — a random key your iPhone shares with each Apple TV you pair, also kept in the Keychain on both devices.
This information never leaves your devices except to travel between your own iPhone and your own Apple TV, as described below.
How Camwall uses your network
Camwall works on your local network:
- Finding cameras. The iPhone app looks for cameras and recorders on your network. It sends the standard ONVIF discovery message and checks the addresses on your local network. It then connects to the cameras you choose to read their stream addresses, using the login you give it.
- Sending your setup. The iPhone app sends your camera setup, including camera passwords, to your Apple TV over an encrypted connection on your local network.
- Playing video. The Apple TV app connects directly to your cameras or recorder and plays their video. Video goes straight from your cameras to your Apple TV. Camwall does not record, store or upload video.
Camwall only connects to devices it finds on your local network and to the addresses you enter. If you enter an address outside your network, Camwall connects to it directly and nowhere else.
Permissions
- Local Network (iPhone and Apple TV) — to find and connect to your cameras, and to connect your iPhone to your Apple TV.
- Camera (iPhone only) — used only to scan the pairing code shown on your Apple TV. Camwall doesn't take, keep or send pictures.
Crash reports
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device's privacy settings, Apple may provide us with crash reports about Camwall. Apple collects these and does not identify you in them. We use them only to fix problems. You can turn this off at any time in your device's privacy settings.
Removing your information
- Delete a camera in the iPhone app to remove it and its saved password from your iPhone. The next time you send your setup, your Apple TV removes it as well.
- Forget an Apple TV in the iPhone app to remove that Apple TV's cameras and their saved passwords from your iPhone.
- Deleting the apps removes their settings. Items in the Keychain are managed by Apple's system and may remain after an app is deleted. To be sure passwords are removed, delete your cameras in the app first.
Children
Camwall is not directed at children and collects no information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If Camwall's handling of information changes, we will update this page and its effective date before the new version of the app is released.
